Tiffany Chan is the artistic director and co-founder of Windsor Dance eXperience. Starting with 20 members back in 2003, the company has now grown to over 100 members in our most recent stage production. In hopes of creating a family oriented company, Tiffany sought to welcome performers of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of experience.
Tiffany believes and has proven that dance doesn’t just provide technique lessons but also life lessons, such as discipline and learning how to work with a team. She recognizes all the dancers as individuals with hopes that they learn to love, embrace and share their unique qualities with the rest of the community.
This year, she faces her biggest challenge yet - directing a full-length independent film where we say goodbye to all the comforts of the theatre and hello to various locations, inclement weather, performing out of order and even lugging gear - Exciting right!?
John Chan is a Windsor-based videographer and photographer. He is the co-founder and a partner of Perfect Shutter Inc, a media studio specializing in wedding films and commercial video. For the past 10 years, John and his team have been filming weddings and music videos, and producing corporate and commercial video, and short films. However. this is John's first foray into producing a full-length film.
John has been working with WDX for over 10 years now, filming and photographing their stage productions. As well, WDX was his inspiration to begin shooting fine art dance photography. Combining his love for both dance and story-telling, producing Happily Ever After felt like a perfect fit, and a very natural progression for his work. It's been a fun, crazy and ambitious project, but he hopes that he was able to capture and create something hilarious, beautiful and memorable, that the performers and audiences will truly love.
Roxanne Liebrock has been with Windsor Dance eXperience since its inception in 2003 and prides herself on making custom costumes so that every dancer feels fabulous. Her goal is creating costumes that tell a story and inspire the depth of a dancer's character. Working on a video production rather than a theatre performance was very rewarding as it created new difficulties and challenges which required her to learn new techniques and really pay attention to detail. Her passion is working with the dancers, choreographers, and Artistic Director to create their vision and considers herself very lucky that she can use her creativity and imagination to help them see the possibilities that are available. She would like to thank all the dancers who patiently waited through all the fittings and costume malfunctions. And thank the creative souls of Mr. and Mrs. Chan, whose vision encouraged all of us to go forth through these months of isolation.
Katie Zsargo has been involved with theatre for over a decade and has been dancing with WDX for 4 years (after initially joining the company as a vocalist). She’s always been involved with the “behind the scenes” elements of shows, but this is her first time as a production head.
This was an exciting but daunting experience for her, as creating props for a movie is on a completely different level than creating them for a stage show. It’s no longer one set location where everything gets packed up at the end of the week. It’s last minute location changes, early morning set ups after a late shoot the previous night, and running around from store to store looking for the perfect material to create a prop. Needless to say it was challenge. But a challenge she loved every minute of and was grateful to have been a part of.
